Here’s a nice story about how Sweden went from 500 car crash deaths a year to zero. The quick story is that current road viewpoints requires talented drivers with no room for error. They chose to account for error.

Whenever I’m in Stockholm I bike and I use their mass transit. People who drive are very aware of pedestrians and cyclists. I felt very safe.
