So while I did not see any neighbors on my walk this evening, Chico and I (Chico is my 10 year old chihuahua/rat terrier mix) enjoyed the fresh air. Spring really is right around the corner, the long dark of winter is coming to an end. Despite that, Orion is still easily observable in the night sky, and I was able to view Mars and Jupiter tonight pretty clearly with the naked eye, despite the light pollution in Essex. Chico attempted to eat two block bananas and some street cheese. He was a stray, and his scavenging habits have been hard to break. 
My neighbors I think have a home church meeting a few nights a week. They were singing joyfully and it was nice to have that soundtrack as we walked along tonight. Where I live is also close to the Islamic Center of NJ and during prayer times, you can hear the call to prayer outside my apartment. My husband and I moved here almost two years ago, and I have really come to love our neighborhood. Which is great because we just resigned our lease.
I was grateful for this reminder to, as the kids say, touch grass tonight. I tend to be an indoor cat, even though I really truly do actually enjoy the outdoors! The draw to stay inside where my dog and cats and snake and husband are is much stronger.
I hope you (whoever reading this) saw something beautiful today. And that you see something beautiful every day.

We walked around our neighborhood pond. As I am married to a person who likes chasing the stars, he insisted on us getting a photo with the moon behind us.#goforawalk

LOL! I wasn’t sure they were in focus when I took them as I had my glasses on and they don’t have a bifocal lens and…well, I am getting old and need reading glasses as well.

So this has been on my mind a lot and I think today (maybe tonight when it is dark) I’m going to take my short people grabber with me on my walk and some gloves and start picking up trash along the sidewalk on my block.
The revolution starts at home and in small ways.
