Communist Countries Have More Homeowners

The home ownership rate in the USA is around 60%. In China it’s around 90%.

So, based on this limited information, we may guess that capitalism reduces home ownership. Capitalism also appears to increase housing costs.

Communism increases home ownership, and reduces housing costs.

More proof: we got to 60% because the government was willing to back mortgages.

The challenge is, why do we want a mini castle, why do we need to own it. That is owing to security. A home in the US means something very different than other places in the developed world. I feel a truly efficient country with high happiness, co-op style housing would be as satisfying as a house in the US.
