@Feminist_Lo @Lady_Ren as your title says âgreenways are goodâ but I agree when you say that "a bike lane on Bloomfield Ave would be more beneficial to working class and poor folks.
Folks nowadays are really into e-bikes because you can travel farther with them. But to get a decent one with UL Certification you have to have $1500 minimum, this is out of reach for working class and poor folk.
The average city commute is 3-5 milesâŚgreenways here in the US tend to be a ways from places of work, education and medical care. So a greenway, while beneficial to some, would just make more folks longer than the average trip. People, especially when biking or using micromobility definitely want to get from point a to b and maybe c via a direct route. Especially when biking at night or year round as I often do.
