All of my kindle books

Hey all!
I am attempting to close my Amazon account and in reading the information on it, it says my purchased content, ie: kindle and audible books and Amazon prime movies, will no longer be available when closing the account.
The movies I’m like whatever about. But I am a little pissed that almost 200 kindle books in my kindle library will be lost to me. Some of them I have hard copies of, some of them I do not.
Anybody know what you can do to save your kindle books? :loudly_crying_face:

Are they electronic books or audio, I have downloaded electronic books—but in past years they have made this harder and harder. @johnka.66 any ideas?

They are electronic books. Purchased through Amazon kindle.
I have a bunch of audiobooks on audible as well…I am less worried about those.

So I think my best option is to find a used kindle and buy it (I do not have a kindle device at the moment, I use the app) and download all of my books onto it before closing my account completely. There are plenty on marketplace and I’m sure I could find one at a thrift store.

I’m not sure what happens. I think the Kindle books are DRMd so they can’t be extracted, however, I think if you download the books to your device(s), you will have the copy. That’s what the websites say. It’ll show up as a file, too. (I don’t have a Windows or Mac computer anymore, so I can’t check where they’re stored.)

If you want to buy my Kindle with keyboard, I’m down to sell at a discount. I haven’t used it in a year.
