YES, the web is no longer safe. I’m thinking of which news organizations to donate to, democracy now is great! My dad started listening to them years ago.

I am also moving my digital archives to non corporate and non US entities. My videos will be on a French nonprofit, my social media life to Discourse open source, my website to the nonprofit Ghost based in the UK. You can really see now how corporations having too much power can literally destroy democracy. FB is truly evil, FB really set in motion Twitter, Musk-/ you control the media, you control so much.

And here is the thing, you can barely explain things to people anymore. You have to go so far back, it becomes exhausting, but it is so important the disinformation machine which started with Clinton when he signed the Telecommunications Act. The Telecommunications Act of 1996 is a United States federal lawenacted by the 104th United States Congress on January 3, 1996, and signed into law on February 8, 1996, by President Bill Clinton.
This essentially started the consolidation of media, which has led to an erosion of democracy.

Some years ago I took a computer class at the YWCA it was FREE! Our teacher, very cool Black dude that was into racing pigeons, Franklyn. he taught us what the website suffixes, .com, .edu and .org meant… Business, education or non profit . He advised us to be leary of .com’s because they are trying to sell you stuff…edu is normally safe but this depends on the institution itself, and .org make sure to research who is funding the .org. I follow his advice to this day.
