The Save Act, an extra hurdle for married women & Black voters

34% of voting-age women don’t have documents proving citizenship with their current legal name and of all ethnic and racial groups African Americans are least likely to have an ID (and this is a very well known fact which is the downlow reason these kinds of bills continue to be pushed by Dixie).

Section 2 is the most significant part of the SAVE Act. It would amend the National Voter Registration Act (“NVRA”)—which currently prohibits states from requiring documentary proof of citizenship (“DPOC”) from applicants that register under the NVRA’s registration provisions— to mandate states require Americans to provide DPOC to register to vote in federal elections. These provisions will apply to all new registrants across the United States—including already-registered voters who update their registration as the result of a move, a name change, or a party switch.

What to do, call your reps let them know this is unacceptable a violation of our civil rights and correct people who casually say you need an ID to vote, you legally do not. Education will be part of any Civic Action.
