Hello folks,
The vision for creating a social space dedicated to political economy, urbanism, and heterodox economics is not only alive but thriving! “Space is a means of production” on the platform discourse— designed to be inclusive, utopian in its aspirations, deeply rooted in community building, AND creating Civil Discourse— has truly been worth every effort you folks have put into it.
In just two weeks since our launch, we’ve grown to 50 members —a testament to the shared passion and commitment of this community. We’ve also received generous support from incredible individuals like Kim Clark and James, Steve Vaccarro, Apryl Miller, LM Lisa, Mark Naison, Aaron Hyndman, Alturrick Kenney, Ellen McDermott, and Charles Brown. A special shoutout to Sulima, our first financial supporter, and to my longtime champions, Jeff and Elise. If I haven’t mentioned you by name, please know your contributions mean the world to me. As a token of my gratitude, an e-card (and a physical card, if I have your address) is on its way!
Now, we’re looking to deepen our engagement. While Facebook has been a great starting point, the reality is that under the current administration, spaces like ours may face increasing scrutiny—or even prosecution for the ideas we share. That’s why it’s crucial to strengthen our community now. Here’s how you can help:
Engage daily: Like a comment, share a post, or start a conversation.
Respond thoughtfully:When someone replies to your comment or post, keep the dialogue going.
Be a model: Let’s show others how to build a virtual community that’s not only resilient but also a source of pride and support for its members.
Together, we can create something truly special—a space that empowers, educates, and inspires. Let’s keep the momentum going!
With warm solidarity,
Lark
