I have been making calls, and I’m wondering if you all have strategies and advice. I feel like I am always only talking at a disinterested 20-year-old intern.

The thing I like about the 5 calls app is that the calls for actions are great for op-eds, teach-ins, TikTok’s, even a callathon in a Republican area that a friend, associate, or family member lives and other purposes—purposes that can keep you engaged and invigorated.
The calls are super boring, especially when you do them daily, but they are documentation and your call with the chorus of others puts in the ear of staff and politicians that you are concerned and that is oddly powerful.
The best stories I got when I had a newspaper in LA was reading the agenda for the council meetings weekly, it was so weird. The best most impactful stories came from the most mundane task.

Thanks for your reassurance that it’s just part of the daily grind of calls. I live in a small rural town about an hour north of LA and just happen to have a Republican rep who is a Trumper. I agree about 5 calls. The scripts have been an invaluable resource — otherwise I would probably lose it trying to get through to my rep.
