The Atlanta Lesbian Feminist Alliance (ALFA) formed in 1972 as a breakaway from Atlanta’s Gay Liberation Front (GLF) and Atlanta Women’s Liberation.
By the fall, they had rented this house on Mansfield Avenue, which became known as the ALFA house. It served as a central location with “open hours” for meetings, events, and get-togethers for the lesbian community.
They moved to the McLendon Avenue site in 1975, where it would stay until 1986.
