In some ways I feel this tariff issue is not about the current admin being ignorant of how the political economy works, but about it using various methods to terrorize us— and in us I include Mexico and Canada.

I think it’s also to prevent an American escape into Mexico or Canada. Mexico and Canada may deny entry of Americans at some point in time.
